Talent, achievements, youth and personality – these characteristics bind the pianists who, thanks to the series L’Europe du piano, have been able to give evidence of their outstanding calibre at several European concert venues including the Liszt Academy. Born in 1994, the Israeli-German pianist Ido Ramot launched out on a career at a very early age, being just nine when he played with Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, since when he has worked with many other ensembles primarily in Israel and Italy. The young artist has given multiple solo recitals in Israel, Germany, Spain, Italy and Scandinavia. He has attained podium places at several international competitions and he is a merit scholarship holder of the American-Israeli Cultural Fund. Currently he is a second-year student at the Hans Eissler Hochschule für Musik, Berlin. Jan Vojtek was born in Brno in 1995. He has been playing piano since the age of five. He won several national competitions in the Czech Republic during his school years, and has been tutored by university professors from the age of 10. His father is Hungarian, therefore he finished his secondary school studies at the Bartók Béla Conservatory of Music in Budapest; currently he is in his third year at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. He can boast of an increasing number of stage appearances both as soloist and in partnership with orchestras in the Czech Republic and Hungary. This joint concert by Ido Ramot and Jan Vojtek is the opportunity to discover the entire spectrum of skills of both pianists, and it ranks as yet another station on the pathway to their transition from talented students to mature artists.
