Bard College was founded in 1860 and is one of the most prestigious colleges in America in the areas of music and the humanities: the annual Bard Music Festival now in its 25th year is an important focal point for music life in America and beyond. Here the Bard Conservatory Orchestra gives a concert in the Liszt Academy’s Grand Hall, conducted by the president of the college and founder of the Bard Music Festival, Leon Botstein. The soloist will be Benjamin Hochman, member of the piano faculty of the Bard Conservatory, winner of the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2011.
