Talent Day A Zeneakadémia saját szervezésű programja

Although most experts and non-experts agree that music talent is a striking phenomenon, it is still difficult to define what exactly this talent means. How are wunderkinds born, and what do they need in order to become leading performance artists when they move into adulthood? How far do instrumentalists have to practice until they reach perfection, and what part do role models and teachers play in this? These are some of the issues raised in the Liszt Academy’s Talent Day, which is far more than just a series of traditional concerts. The event, part of the Talent Obliges series, naturally has as its primary aim the introduction of hugely gifted musicians just setting out on a career. Talent Day provides a cross-section of the work being carried on at the Liszt Academy, since in the course of this day-long event every section – from the preparatory classes through to the Doctoral School – is given exposure. The most varied of programmes are arranged in several classrooms starting at 11 am and going right through to 8 in the evening, during which time there are presentations by students of the departments of chamber music, church music and piano, not forgetting the Doctoral School; concerts are staged in the Solti Hall with students accompanied by Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. The youngest members of this ‘family’ are represented by not only students of the Exceptional Young Talents but also those from the Bartók Music Secondary School functioning as the Liszt Academy’s teacher training school. Visitors can also join a round-table discussion, a masterclass and contemporary music project.
