A legfontosabb osztály számomra – és a magyar zenészek százai számára – a kamarazenei osztály volt.

-;-Matthias Goerne (bariton)

Kammerorchester Basel (koncertmester: Anders Kjellberg Nilsson)
Even though Matthias Goerne takes to the stages of the foremost opera houses from the Metropolitan Opera to Covent Garden, the Vienna Opera to the Madrid Teatro Reál, and sings the roles of the like of Wotan, Amfortas, Bluebeard and Wozzeck, the general public primarily consider him to be a superb lieder singer and worthy heir of the greatest predecessors. As an interpreter of Schubert, he has produced benchmark recordings, and his series of 12 albums are a milestone in the history of lieder: besides the three great song cycles these discs include a further 164 songs. In the past few years he has exhibited an increasing willingness to experiment with non-traditional performances of Schubert songs: for instance, in 2016 he recorded a few of the composer’s compositions in the company of a string quintet. For this recital he is accompanied by a string orchestra, his partner being the chamber orchestra of Basel (established in 1984), who carry on the heritage of their legendary patron-conductor, Paul Sacher; the ensemble consider it their mission to create a harmonious balance of early and new music. The Swiss formation arrives at the Liszt Academy under the concertmaster leadership of outstanding Israeli-Canadian violinist and violist Daniel Bard.
