Accord Quartet A Zeneakadémia saját szervezésű programja

In the four months of the 2017-2018 concert season that fall in the Kodály commemoration year, the Liszt Academy pays tribute with a monthly concert to the memory of its one-time professor, educator of epochal significance, folk music researcher and composer, creating a cross-section of the rich and diverse oeuvre with the assistance of performance artists closely connected with or working in the Hungarian institution. For this evening, two string quartets representing the essence of the master’s chamber music for strings are performed, accompanied by the rarely heard Serenade for two violins and viola. Accord Quartet is among the youngest representatives of the great Hungarian quartet tradition locating works by Kodály and Bartók amongst the classics. Since their foundation in 2001 they became one of the most determinative musical groups in Hungary and gave concerts in almost all countries and great concert halls of Europe, such as in Museum of Fine Arts of Bruxelles (BOZAR), Museum of Fine Arts of Madrid, and the Ermitage of St Petersburg.
