At the concert, the audience will have the opportunity to hear the world premiere of Levente Gyöngyösi’s Tenebrae Responsoria, a nine-movement motet cycle. Written for the Cantemus Mixed Choir, the composition vividly portrays the dramatic texts of the Holy Thursday responsories with extreme expressive power. The wonderful harmonic world, inexhaustible melodic invention, and atmosphere-building reminiscent of Renaissance traditions of word painting promise a cathartic musical experience.
