It is a crucial element of the foreign relations strategy of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music that it should attract as many gifted international students as possible and alongside this, the tradition of Hungarian music education is to be disseminated, consequently, cooperation agreements have been made with several prestigious institutions.
The agreement made with the Chinese music academy does not only popularise Hungarian music education by providing the mobility of students, but it also enables our excellent academic staff members to travel to the Chinese partner institution and it makes it also possible for young Chinese academics to come to Budapest and enjoy a mentoring system.
A Zhejiang Conservatory of Music is one of China’s grandest and most cutting-edge higher education institutions, which assumes a special status, and as part of the „One Belt One Road” national programme, receives significant state and provincial grants. Thanks to this, our Chinese partner university plays a central role in spreading the good reputation of the Chinese music education all over the world.
In the future, provided all necessary requirements are met, the Liszt Academy and the Zhejiang Conservatory will be organising joint events, such as a competition for composers, summer music camps or potentially, concert collaborations.
